SHOCK
Shock is a condition where “BLOOD PRESSURE BECOMES WEAK OR LOW”. This state ends up in depletion of oxygen supplied to cells. As we all know that, cells are not able to live without oxygen, so in this condition where decrease of oxygen supply will impair body function (organ failure). If this state or condition is not treated or reversed then fatality could be the consequence.

BLOOD PRESURE WEAK OR LOW

IMPAIRED BLOOD CIRCULATION TO MAJOR ORGANS

FUNCTION OF MAJOR ORGANS IMAIRED DUE TO OXYGEN DEPLETION

NOT REVERSED OR TREATED

FATALITY

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
• Face, lips, hand and feet sole that looks pale.
• Cold and clammy skin.
• Sweating.
• Look worried and blurred.
• Nauseated and maybe vomiting.
• Blurred vision.
• Rapid and weak pulse.

TYPES OF SHOCK
1) HYPOVOLUMIC SHOCK - low fluid volume, due to bleeding or dehydration.

2) CARDIOGENIC SHOCK - pumping failure of heart, due to disease, injury or valve.

3) ANAPLATIC SHOCK - allergen reaction, due to pollen, dust, food, chemical, animal bite or sting.

5) SEPTIC SHOCK - major infection leads to major inflammatory reaction.
EMERGENCY MEASURES

j) Control of pain. Example in fracture, immobilise the fracture region.
k) Transportation for further management and treatment is essential.

SUMMARY
SHOCK must be identified immediately and related treatment also must be administered immediately. Prolong condition may lead to multi organ failure and may lead to fatality. Time could be crucial thing that we have to fight for here. Urgent transportation would be necessary.
